Post by: jonocymru on August 19, 2014, 11:43:56 AM
Hey, im new here, this forum is like an oasis in the desert for me. Im a fingerstyle/slide player and also in a jug/hokum blues band. This is my take on Johnsons intimidating Preachin Blues (Up Jumped the Devil) Would love your feedback.

Welcome to Weenie Campbell.

Looking at your videos, Jon, you have certainly found the right place. It is especially gratifying to see a younger person playing this music (very well) and obviously with a keen interest in the kind of guitars we like.

I like it, too :) it shows a welcome "calm" way of playing this piece rather than Johnson?s more hectic one - for me it?s a new song in this interpretation. And for some reasons, I like the combination "fast, complicated playing" and "lazy singing" in general.
