My mother, she died and left me in 1920... And after then I got on my own, I could go everywhere I wanted then without letting anybody know where I was - Blind Willie McTell
Faculty list is up for the Port Townsend workshop. Guitar players should be very happy. And Robert Belfour is back. Looks like a pretty great lineup with some new faces to me. Though I am rather bummed to see that Jerron Paxton is not on the list. (Sorry, had to get one complaint in, and I didn't even mention the lack of banjo instruction. )

I'm very pleased to let you all know that Jerron Paxton will be on faculty for Fiddle Tunes (also at Fort Worden, in Port Townsend) - dates are July 1-8. Teaching banjo! We haven't "unveiled" the faculty for Fiddle Tunes yet, but I hope that will happen very soon. There's still more to do, but I can tell you that we have another amazing faculty this year including older generation musicians who are among the last active links to that earlier time of the 20s and 30s.
I think I won't be able to be on faculty at Blues Week again til I'm finished with my stint as Artistic Director of Fiddle Tunes, there seems to be a rule against having the same folks at both weeks. In the meantime, I would be happy to teach blues fiddle at EuroWeenie....
Wow. Certainly would be a good year to come slack. Finance and family mean its a non starter for me though. Is eba definitely the same week blueshome? Thought they were moving it for olympics. If its same week, its certainly going to be interesting to see what sort of lineup michael roach manages to gather.
We were told it would be earlier because of the b****y games but the Euroblues website currently says 29th July for 2012..... as our colonial cousins might say... go figure...
Yes - a terrific line-up for sure. And soon we will know who the new Blues Program Director will be at Centrum. I would have been there regardless, but like Rivers, I have made an entry in my calendar for PTCBW_2012. And with Jerron on banjo, Fiddle Tunes is looking awfully interesting too. Maybe I should just be planning to take up residence in PT for a month or so next summer? Better check with Mrs. Page first!
