John said he had been to the doctor, who said, "You gotta quit smoking those Camels". Eyeing the cigarette that John was about to place in his mouth, someone said "But John, you're still smoking", to which John replied, "Well, he didn't say nothin' about Pall Malls" - from Phil Ratcliffe's Biography of Mississippi John Hurt

?

The local community college has outgrown its current space and is in
negotiations with the Fort to rent the School House for classroom
space. The details of the deal are not public yet, but the two
parties appear to be very excited.

Heres a link to the localpaper:

Hey Frank,

Quote
The 13-room schoolhouse (built originally as the post hospital) is presently one of Fort Worden's meeting space venues. During the summer the schoolhouse is busy with Centrum workshops, among other uses, but the facility is mostly empty during the "school year" months.

It sounds like the college will only need the school house for fall and spring... so hopefully would not affect workshops (it is such a great place to hold classes and I think Fiddle Tunes needs ALL the space at the Ft!). I'm sure Ft Worden could use the extra bucks too.? Sounds like a win/win to me.? ?

Let's hope that Ft. Worden doesn't jeopardize the deal by having the college folks eat in the cafeteria.? :P (sorry, just cannot help myself sometimes.)

cheers,
slack
