Hi all,
I though it might be fun to get people's perspectives on this question--no right or wrong answers, of course, and no explanation required unless you feel like it.  I'll get the ball rolling with a couple with no explanation.  This might work best if we don't each do a laundry list of people, but however you care to go is okay.
   * Blind Lemon Jefferson
   * Luke Jordan
All best,
Johnm

Easy one to reply to John, I agree with your list. + Blind Blake...Blind Lemon would be my first choice however and by a long way.

Blind Blake -- for a lot of obvious reasons -- the least of which would be so that I could finally say authoritatively that he played with two fingers.

Lonnie Johnson -- I'd beg him to play "Got the Blues for the West End."

And Fuller, though not necessarily at the same time, natch.

Lemon would be at the top of my list. Patton would be right up there too.

I'd love to have seen Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe.

Blind Boy Fuller. From what I have heard he was a nice fellow, no drunkard, noone to start an argument or a fight, just a tiny fine fellow :)

From a "I want to see their technique" point of view:

Patton
Blake
Jefferson
Bo Weavil Jackson

I think it would have been pretty amazing to see Son House with his band in the late '30s/early '40s, too.

Patton
Blake
Jefferson
Bo Weavil Jackson

took the words right out of my mouth, although I think I'd rather be able to see the Mississippi Mudsteppers (Vinson/L. Chatmon/C. McCoy) than Blake (as much as I love Blake!).

Bo Weavil Jackson, though!  I'd love to have seen that guy!
