Mississippi Moaner--So Cold In China

Hi everybody.

I was just wondering if anyone had ever given any attention to Isiah Nettles (the Mississippi Moaner) and his song, "So Cold In China".

Even though he's playing basic "key of A" forms (my ears tell me capoed 2 frets up), he's got a very frenetic eighth-note bass figure going on throughout the recording while at the same doing some chording high up the neck on weird accents.

Is someone accompanying him on this record?

Solo performance according to B&GR and I agree. Great number. Those trills remind me of something else but for the life of me I can't think what.

[edit: I remembered what the trills remind me of, Funny Papa Smith]
