https://soundcloud.com/mr-omuck/bottle-up-and-go Well I just gave it a little oddball twist..don't know where I dredged that up from... Thanks.
Just listened to your take on the song, Pan - nice weary vocals and cool bass run concluding the form! Sucks about the battery... you were just getting started...
Hi all
Stefan Wirz just uploaded Willie Guy Rainey's version of the tune on YouTube. For more info on him, look at the links he provides under the video. Cheers Pan alyoung
Interesting ... I hear enough similarities to be sitting here pondering the link between Eddie Burns and Lead Belly.

Charlie Burse followed up the Picininny and Memphis Jug Band recordings with an group of anonymous musicians on alto sax, piano, bass and drums ? labelled as His Mississippi Mudcats. Here's their 1939 Oil it Up And Go:
Same old Charlie, but the band took into a new musical idiom. And here are two more idiom-shifts: Little Willie Cotton Gonna Shook It Up And Go Black Cats And The Kitten Step It Up And Go DavidCrosbie
Pan's link to Harmonica Frank's recording doesn't work for me. This one does
Another link that doesn't work for me is Lighnin' Hopkins' version. This link works for me Pan's link for Snooks Eaglin doesn't work for me, but I've found two that do ? one with added harmonica. I'm not sure which is one that Pan has in mind... And there's now a YouTube link for the Cedar Creek Sheik's She's Totin' Something Good And a link to Larry Johnson's Step It Up And Go PS My apologies for the multiple links. These are all recordings that other people posted. Some weren't available here through their links; others weren't available to those of us without Spotify.
