Atomic Bomb Blues
Thomas was quite prognostic when he posted “41 Blues” a few days before the invasion of Ukraine;
War is ragin’ in Europe on the water, land and in the air
War is ragin’ in Europe on the water, land and in the air
Ooh, if Uncle Sam, he don’t be careful, we’ll all soon be right back over there
I stumbled on this song a few days ago.

In 1946 he recorded three tracks for Columbia with Muddy Waters on guitar. Homer Harris would not record anything else afterwards, working odd jobs and opening small businesses in Chicago until his death in 2000.

It was early one mornin’, when all the good work was done
It was early one mornin’, when all the good work was done
And that big boat was loaded, with that awful atomic bomb
Wrote my baby, I were behind the risin' sun
Wrote my baby, I were behind the risin' sun
I told her, “Don't be uneasy, because I'm behind the atomic bomb”
Nation after nation, was here and far away
Nation after nation, was here and far away
Well, they soon got the news, and there, where they would stay
Over in Japan, you know, they laid down and cried
Over in Japan, you know, they laid down and cried
And poor Tojo (sic), had to find a place to hide
