These Memphis cops call me a vagrant, but I’m a musician. I’m a recording artist for the Vict’ry company. Known all over the world. But these southern laws don’t recognize a man by his talents. - Willie Blackwell to Alan Lomax

I have uploaded more excerpts from my interviews with Ruby Walker Smith, Bessie's niece, This one runs about 45 minutes and does not duplicate what was issued on CD by Columbia. I guarantee that you have not heard this one before—Ruby was in top form, as usual, and this was the first of our interviews, made February 7, 1971.  There is also a new interview in the series on Sam Wooding.
