the gauges are scientifically calculated to split the difference between the ropes that were found on Leadbelly's guitar and the lighter string you'd need to bring out the "slink" in McTell's sound...
I've just got a few sets - $16 shipped and paypalled in the US... $17 outside the US.... more than one set? let's talk. PM me for questions/orders.
blueshome:
Recently received my set and put them on the Angelina. Really nice sound and touch. Highly recommended.
Nicolas Dussart:
Frankie or Blueshome, at what pitch do you tune your guitar with these gauges ?
I'm using Todd Cambio's sets of LaBella, (13-65) two tones lower than standard (down to C in standard or Bb in open tuning) on a Leadbelly copy (made by R.Bown) and your sets looks pretty light.
Also, could you please explain the specificity of nickel strings ?
Thanks,
Nicolas
blueshome:
I normally tune to B in standard and Bb for Vastapol - same with the heavy La Bellas which I've used up to now.
I was surprised that the lighter strings worked so well, I'd be happy to stick with these.
To me nickel sounds a little less brash than PB, is easier to fret (don't know why), but this also applies to the nickels I use on my triplate, and they last must longer before the they sound tired.

B for std, A for vestapol, D for spanish.
the lighter gauges work well for me at those pitches.
