My group of people - Joe Turner, King Curtis, Mickey Baker - used to laugh at all the country blues singers who were backwards musically. John Lee Hooker and Lightnin' Hopkins sang out of meter - we couldn't respect them. - Doc Pomus, quoted in How The Beatles Destroyed Rock 'N' Roll by Elijah Wald

Hi coco,
Welcome to Weenie Campbell!  You're right, the wrong lyric was entered in Weeniepedia for the Texas Alexander song, "I Am Calling Blues".  The right lyric is in the original lyric thread.  It was Eddie Lang backing Texas Alexander on "I Am Calling Blues", though, not Lonnie Johnson.  Thanks for pointing out the mistake.  The correction will be made.  I will also move your post over to the Weeniepedia thread.
All best,
Johnm
