Just been demo-ing Hi Henry Brown's Preacher's Blues with a view to making a proper recording. Tried to get a bit of a delta flavour.

i think you sound like mance lipscomb when you sing - really relaxed and a bit lazy in th BEST POSSIBLE SENSE - really great stuff. i'm more than a little bit jealous.

I missed this before, I like it. It gathers up it's skirts after the first chorus and you settle into the rhythm.

Thanks guys, it's still a work in progress.

As I have just started with this piece, I overdubbed the vocal as well as the lead guitar over the part played out of Spanish. When I get the song up to speed I'll either get a 2nd guitarist or sing and play the lead part together over a backing track. This should allow a little more spark in the performance without losing that relaxed feel.

I am a great believer in trying to capture a song without overdubbing, but it is a useful way of getting going with something new so you can concentrate on working up the separate parts. I used a Zoom H4.
