"New" acoustic guitar design
« on: November 27, 2006, 08:46:20 PM »

http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/28/science/28acou.html

The bulk of the text story is about other acoustic instruments, but the page has a link to a video story on a radical design for an acoustic guitar. It also shows a science writer for the NYTimes playing his guitar lefty and "upside down" a la Elizabeth Cotton, and sounding as though he would fit in at PT just fine. Worth a look from you luthier types out there. The link should be good for 10-14 days from today (Nov 27).

Nah, the science writer sums it up well: "as a long time guitar player, I still prefer my old time Lowden."
