Johnm:
Hi all,
Kweskin's Jug Band was not the Even Dozen Jug Band.  The Even Dozen was on Elektra and Kweskin's was, at first, on Vanguard.  Personnel on the first Kweskin album:  Kweskin, Geoff Muldaur, Bob Siggins on banjo, Fritz Richmond, Bruno Wolf on vocals.  Second album added Maria D'Amato on fiddle and vocals, Bill Keith on banjo, and Mel Lyman on harmonica, and lost Bob Siggins.  I believe the only cross-over who was in both bands was Maria.
All best,
Johnm

Thanks for the clarification, John. I guess I should have said, "Some of these folks may have crossed over." -G-

All for now.

After a cursory search I've found a lot of stuff of potential interest to Weenies on YouTube.com:

Muddy, Johnny Shines, R.L. Burnside, Kelly Joe Phelps, Cooder....

--- Quote ---Did the Even Dozen ever actually perform?  I thought it was just a studio one-off.

Of course, Stefan Wirz had the answer to my question, if only I had looked: "they made a couple of television appearances; and they performed several times in concert, twice at New York's Carnegie Hall."

Thanks, Stefan!

There's some info and photos re: JKJB in Jim Rooney and Eric von Schmidt's book "Baby, Let Me Follow You Down."
