Blue Shadow Falling

One of Buddy Moss's great numbers in E, from the 1963 recording session with George Mitchell.
Thanks as ever to John Miller for his song breakdowns, where I discovered this. Here we are a year or two later and I've almost learned to play it ...!

Cheers,

Gordon

Really nice, Gordon!  I think it's great the way that you're always working and growing in what you do.
All best,
Johnm

Thanks, glad people enjoyed it.
I get a lot out of learning songs that are a bit of a stretch - then getting to the point where the singing works out, that's the hard, hard bit, but rewarding too.

Cheers

Hi Gordon,

Thought I had posted this before, but must have failed to post.

This is really fine, and I admire how you strive for a style with a loose right hand and a fluid left as well. You also really carry the rhythm and feel of the song in your body. This technique may be difficult to master, but you are reaping the benefits in terms of rhythmic expression and connection between the vocal and the guitar. Your hard work really shows in your growing confidence and relaxation.

I always like it when players don't use fingerpicks or a thumbpick. The sound is quieter, but to my ears more natural. Nice work.
